Lover of Stories
For as long as I can remember I have always appreciated a good story. As I got older, it was the story of other people's lives that intrigued me. Then, after a few years of college, I went on a global trek with my camera in hand. It was then that I knew it was the collective human story that I was in love with. Unbeknownst to be at the time, my backpacking experience birthed a true passion for cultural experiences and an irreversible inspiration to photographing people living and celebrating their lives. I love using my camera to tell a story, to show people how they are living theirs. I am a believer that it is the small moments that connect us to one another so deeply. It's the words unsaid, small gestures that may go unnoticed, quiet and loud moments, listening intently, sharing a bench and a cup of tea; these are the intentional ways we show up for ourselves and one another. These are the moments that shape our story. As a storyteller, I would be honored to document yours.
In 2019 my family and I moved from Charleston, SC to the mountains of Western North Carolina. Now we are adventuring from our new beautiful home in Brevard, NC and we couldn't be happier.
I am a perpetual student learning mostly from my mistakes and from others; as blundering and seeking are the foundations to my learning.
I have also taken courses in Documentary and Storytelling photography and continue to engage in various courses monthly to hone my craft.
